PART TIME TECHNOPHOBE
Touring from Brisbane to Melbourne over 2014 ‘Part Time Technophobe’ delves deeper into Penfolds obsession with hand painted artwork that looks like it could have come out of printer.
Growing up in the rise of the digital age Penfold has always had a love/hate relationship with computers. Being given a crack copy of Adobe illustrator some 9 years ago he taught himself to use the program but very quickly started to realise that what he was creating wasn’t real. It was at this point he decided to try and make paintings that look like they could have been made by a program. For ‘Part Time Technophobe’ Penfold has produced a body of work that has pushed his robot skills to the limit.
